I came across some wild medicinal mushrooms (扁灵芝) on some dead logs in Bruce Perinsula, Ontario.
Fomitopsis Pinocola, also called Red Belted Polypore Fungus, is Karsten Fruit Body: no stem, up to 20cm across, 15cm wide, 10 cm thick convex shaped; upper surface with reddish, resinous crust. Tubes are about 11mm deep ( 2 years-old), flesh up to 10cm thick, corky hard woody; taste a bit bitter.
I sliced them into small pieces, dried in electric food dryer and stored them in a jar. Using 5-10g of dryed mushroom to brew tea for a few times until the tea becomes tasteless.
